About Open Source Archiving
This is the group blog of the AMIA Open Source Committee, which was established at the 2009 AMIA Conference following discussion of common needs for free software in the moving image archival community.
The mission of the AMIA Open Source Committee is:
- to inform the AMIA membership on the application of Free Software and public standards within moving image archives;
- to serve as a liaison between the AMIA membership and communities of open source development;
- to identify and respond to software and workflow needs within the AMIA membership;
- to foster collaboration and participation with open source research and development projects of the AMIA membership.
If you would like to post to this blog or participate in its discussions, please register as a member of this site. We welcome anyone interested in free and open source software useful for the creation, management, and preservation of moving image archives.
